Slow Cooker Italian Pot Roast
By larcaustin46
This is an easy slow cooker recipe that my mother shared with me years ago. It's delicious served over pasta, with some garlic bread to help sop up the sauce. Our family loves this!
2 1/2 lb beef roast, boneless
16 oz tomato sauce
1 medium onion, sliced
1 envelope Italian dressing mix
Salt and pepper
Cut roast in half for even cooking. Season roast all over with salt and pepper. Place in electric slow cooker (Note: be sure to plug in the slow cooker!). Add onion and remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on high setting 5 hours, or until roast is tender. Or, cover and cook on high setting 1 hour, then reduce to low setting and cook 7 hours.
That's it! So easy, and so good!

I'll have to substitute garlic for the onion since my husband can't stomach them. But this does sound easy and good.
This sounds great. I cannot wait to try it
Voted up, useful, and awesome. This sounds very good. You can't go wrong when you go Italian!

I love finding new ways to use my crockpot. I'd not heard of adding tomato sauce - this sounds yummy! I'm thinking it would be good with chicken, too? Thanks for the great recipe!
